Birthdays, Burn and Brawn!

It was my mum's birthday yesterday, I'm not going to mention her age but it begins with a 5 and ends in a 0 so it was a fairy big birthday. I avoided using the number all day, even made sure I bought a card that didn't have the number on it. For her birthday we went and watched Wales's strongest man competition, I think it was more my brothers saying, cause he's very into his powerlifting, and strong man stuff. The competition was in the same place we went to watch a strong man competition about 2 months ago when Mike was here. This time however the weather couldn't of been any more opposite. Last time we went I had to go and sit in the car to try and get some warmth. It was freezing. This time I had to go and sit in the car to try and get some shade. It was boiling!!!  It was a nice day though. Last time we had to leave early so we missed the last event which was the atlas stones. This time however we stayed and got to watch it. The men were huge, and they were lifting weights that equaled 6 and a bit of me. Made me feel good about myself :)

Sam and I bought my mum a Tiffany bracelet for her birthday. I love Tiffany's!! Its so pretty, I would love some Tiffany's jewellery..hint hint anyone who knows me reading this :)
We all fought for the aloe vera last night when we got home, my brother burnt the worst by far. My burn normally turns to tan anyway so I dont mind being slightly red. Was so nice to finally have some sun, hopefully it'll stay especially seen as now I'm going to have some days off.

Girlie nights are the best!

What a busy week..I'm exhausted!!
I only have 4 shifts left of this placement, 6 weeks has flown by. Ive had an amazing placement, seen and learnt so much. The station I have been on would be my dream station to work on when I graduate in little over a year! All the staff are so nice and very eager to help me.
I had 2 days off and boy did I make the most of it. Thursday I caught up with my oldest friend Amy, I havent seen her in so long so it was lovely to just be able to sit down and have a good chat and giggle about 'the old times'. Amy is always there for me and I know I can honestly call her a true friend, she's amazing!
That night we went to one of our local pubs and played rock and roll bingo, instead of having numbers you have song titles, so when the music plays you cross off the song titles on your card. I got so carried away singing along I forgot about my card, so safe to say I didn't win. I had a fab night though.

Friday morning I had my hair cut..finally after 3 months! I'm trying to grow my hair, but because of how much dye I have put in it over the years it is in terrible condition so its going very slowly. Hopefully now that I've stopped dying it and not straightening it as much it will speed up a bit.
Then I went up to meet my old uni friends. They had their final results the day before so I went up to celebrate with them. We went out for lunch. I'm so proud of them all, they all did so well. Its scary that I could of graduated if I hadn't dropped out. But I made the right decision for me. I hope I don't loose contact with them all now that they are all going back home. They are some of the best people I've ever met and I have some of my favorite memories with them.

That evening I had a girlie night over one of my friends house who I used to work with. There was 8 of us there. I hadn't seen any of them in so long, it was nice to catch up with all of them. We had a takeaway, watched TV, had a good old gossip and played on Wii dance. I love that game! It always makes me laugh when it comes round to paying the bill at the end, there's either too much money or too little. The girls who had Dominoes had terrible problems trying to do the maths and work out who owed what. I was in charge of the Chinese takeaway money and  managed to get it spot on :) My maths GCSE turned out to be useful after all! I baked cakes for the night. I love baking! I always used to help my mum cook and I think I baked a million cakes with her growing up, normally it ended up with the kitchen looking like a bomb had gone off. I somehow managed to get flour EVERYWHERE! Its definitively something I'm going to do when I'm older with my children, but I think I might have to broaden my horizon, I only bake chocolate cakes.. purely because they're my favorite :) I baked muffins and little fairy cakes I was even late getting the my friends house because I had to wait for the icing to set.
I made sure I took great care of my precious cargo on my way there.

I loved catching up with everyone, I had started to feel slightly out of the loop because I was always so busy, but now one placement is over I should have more free time. I'm going to make sure I go out with them all as much as I can cause lets face it....girlie nights are the best! :)

Worldwide Friends

I created this blog so that I  keep a diary of my life, share things I find interesting and for people who know me to keep up to date with my life. I didn't ever think I would have people reading this blog from so many amazing places in the world.
Since starting this blog I have had people read it from:

  • United States
  • United Kingdom
  • Germany
  • Australia
  • Singapore
  • India
To think that  people have taken the time out to read my blog is amazing, so thank you!

Take me on a trip I'd like to go somewhere...

I want a holiday!

All my friends are finishing university right now, and talking about all their plans to go away this summer, but im stuck in uni. A group of my girlies are going away to Aiya Napa in Cyprus for a week at the start of July. I looked at my timetable today and I actually have 5 days off during that time, so I got a bit excited and looked at flights to go out and meet them, just to get away for a break and soak up some rays. I think I might be able to do it, it all depends on if I can find a cheap flight out there. Coming back is no problem but im having trouble finding a cheap outbound one. I'll have to keep searching. I have been on the go with school constantly pretty much since September and its starting to wear me down, that plus my crazy shifts im working on placement are starting to wear me down. So a few days off in the sun would be perfect.

I;m enjoying my last few days of only having a 6 hour time difference with Mike, he flies to California on Saturday for the start of another camp season. Its unbelievable to think that this time last year I was packing my bags and getting ready to go. I didn't even know Mike a year ago today. I'm so jealous of all the new staff that are going out to work there. They are going to have a fantastic summer that they will never forget. I would tell anyone to do camp america, its the best experience I've ever had. Plus its also a cheap way of getting to america, so if you want to go off exploring its a perfect opportunity. 8 hours time difference is going to take a while to adjust too. It makes talking to him a lot harder, because the times he could possible be free I will be getting up and getting ready for university. We'll figure something out though. I don't think I'm ready for how hard it'll be though.

We've actually had some really nice sunny weather here so I've dug my bikini out and lay out in the garden for a few hours this week. I've got a good tan line already, nothing amazing but at least i'm not as pastey white as I was before. My beach body has been neglected these last 2 weeks, I've been so tired I haven't been working out and I feel terrible for it, i can notice a difference already and I'm too scared to jump on the scales. So tomorrow after I finish my shift I'm going to push myself until I cant do anymore.

ZZZzzzzzz

Sleeeepy!
Oh my shift work is killing me! My life is now controlled by my sleeping patterns. I constantly have to think of when to go to sleep, when to wake up and when to plan naps so that i'm feeling funky fresh and ready for work. My poor body clock doesn't have a clue what is going on, so just wakes me up randomly throughout the night, 5am seems to be a favorite right now. Eating has sort of gone out of the window. I think I have had 1 cooked meal in the last week. The rest is sandwiches on station and grabbing whatever I can. But its not all bad, it's doing wonders for my diet :) My trousers are getting looser..RESULT!

Placement is going really well. My mentor and his colleague are so nice and very encouraging. I've only done 5 shifts and I've already seen and learnt a lot. So I'm cant wait for what to see what the next 5 weeks is going to throw at me.

The sun has FINALLY decided to come out today. Its boiling! I had a 3 hour tanning session, I need to try and catch up with Mike. He always jokes that I'm pastey white so I'm going to prove him wrong. I'm lucky I tan pretty quick and I already have a tan line so it shouldn't be too long before I have a luscious golden glow.

I went to go see the Hangover Part 2 on Tuesday...Meh! Kinda disappointed, but I think the first one set the bar SO high that it would of been almost impossible to beat it. I still found it funny and laughed lots but it wasn't the same kind of hold yourself so you don't wet yourself kind of laugh that I had going on when I watched the first one. I;ve also noticed a few other films are trying to copy it. The Inbetweeners are bringing out a movie of them in Malia which i'm pretty sure is going to be similar and there is a bride-maids version of The Hangover coming out too. That does look quite good though, so I might check that one out.

Guitar progress = 0! I haven't picked it up since last week, it has now just become a nice little decoration in my room catching dust. I'll get back into it soon.
In my free time now I'm working on an essay for uni. Its a 4000 word essay on reflection = :S
I finally started it the other day and managed to write 51 words in 4 hours, so it could take a while. But at least I've started it and have done some reading so hopefully next time I go to do it, it'll all come flowing out beautifully.
