Get it right, get it right get it tight!

So my running career is well on its way. I have been on 5 in the last week. I dont exactly go very far, but im not stopping at all now which is good. I didn't want to go on a silly long run each time, cause ill just get down heartened when I have to stop. So I just go on a short run, and have just been going further and further each time. Hopefully by the time Mikes gets here (which is getting closer and closer!! yay ) I'll be able to go on a long run with him.
I have perfected my set up now before I set off, I get my towels ready by the shower, so I can just get back and jump straight in. Some people look good when they work out, me, I don't quite have that ability, I think I could cook an egg on my face after my run its so hot and red. And how come, people always catch you right at the worst time and want to talk. My neighbours were getting out of their car just as I was getting back, and started to talk to me. I think they quickly realised I was struggling, when I could only give one word answers and most of my responses were just smiles and nods. Bless them, I dont think they had seen anything quite so good looking before. But still everyone has to start somewhere.
I'm also starting to get into dance music, I borrow my brothers iPod and all he has on there is dance, its good to run too though. Sometimes I get a bit too carried away and run to the beat.. BIG MISTAKE! them songs get fast!. Every morning I'm woken up with him blasting it through my bedroom wall, so soon I'm gonna be jumping out of bed ready to go on a run straight off.

All in all I don't think I'll be winning any medals in the 2012 Olympics, but I'm more than happy plodding along with my hardcore dance playing in my ears.

126 days!!

That's right, my countdown to Christmas has officially begun!

I start to get excited when the X factor starts, and I'm sat watching it right now. Ever since I was little my mum has always made sure I know that I have no singing talent what so ever. I really cant sing, I even struggle singing happy birthday in tune . Now I can say that I'm glad she has because otherwise I would totally be one of those people on the X Factor who think they have a voice like Lady Gaga and dance moves like Beyonce.

I LOVE Christmas, its by far my favourite time of the year. I love how magical it is, and how happy everyone is. Boxing day (the day after Christmas) my dads side of the family always come over and we play board games and eat lots! Its probably my favourite day of the year. I love family days, in the future I want to have a massive close knit family. Have massive meals round a table and just spend hours sitting there, laughing and talking.

1 week of my summer has already gone by :( It's going waay too fast. Ill be back in my dashing pea green uniform in no time . At least I'll have some money by the time I start back. I'm enjoying working back in the pool, its nice to see everyone that I used to work with again . I have however not missed all the abusive and rude customers. Over the years I've had to get thick skin, I've been called every name under the sun just for trying to do my job. People are just so quick to yell and swear at us. At the end of the day, we didn't make up the rules, we are just there to enforce them and keep everyone safe . It annoys me that people just think we are dumb lifeguards trying to spoil their holiday. I'm sure if I was in my paramedic uniform, they wouldn't be even half as abusive to me . So it is testing my patience, but I'm learning from it and know that'll I'll come out better from it all.

126 days 8 hours and 29 minutes now eeee :)

Laughing by myself

I went to see Horrible Bosses last night and it was SO funny. At one point I was the only person laughing, it doesn't help I have quiet a loud belly laugh so everyone heard it. I think I embarrassed my brother and his girlfriend Stacey..  Whoops!

This is the clip I laughed so hard at. There is swearing right at the end so I'm sorry for that, but hopefully you'll find it as funny as I did and will be laughing so wont even hear it.

Red and Yellow

Today I swapped my green uniform to my trusty old red and yellow lifeguard uniform .

Now I'm FINALLY on my summer holidays I've gone back to work in my old swimming pool . I left there about 15 months ago to leave for camp, and it hasn't changed at all. There are new people there and I think they were a bit thrown when they walked in and knew what I was doing, I was waiting for someone to ask me who I was, or tell me off, but luckily it never happened. I'm rubbish learning names too so I'm going to have to try hard and learn them by the end of the week, I cant keep saying 'excuse me'.

I did a 12 hour shift today, and boy was I hungry, after the first hour I was ready for lunch. So these 4 weeks are going to be one big battle between me and my stomach. And fingers crossed I'll win and loose a few more pounds.

Being inside all day made me realise how much I love being outside. Ever since I was little I've said I never want to be stuck inside, and I'm very very lucky to be able to say I've found a potential job that allows me to do that.

In the future I defiantly want to go camping, walking/hiking and just get out explore as many places as I can. Mike messaged me yesterday saying he was on a hike, and it reminded me of when him and I went walking. And due to no fault of my own, we got very lost, resulting in us having to climb up a very steep hill on our hands and knees. It was very funny and somewhere on the way up Mike even managed to loose the brand new sunglasses I had bought him for his birthday that morning. I think sleeping under the stars is one of my favorite things to do. So any chance I have to do that I'll jump at it. We might have to polish up on our map reading skills first before we start our adventures though.

I Wanna See Your Peacock.

Last Saturday was Faye's 21st birthday so we carried on her tradition of a annual pubcrawl. This year the theme was animals. Everyone always makes a huge effort for her birthday, and I think this year everyone out did themselves. I had spent the previous week surrounded by about 500 feathers. I ordered 100, 4 foot peacock feathers for our tails, and then bought 3 packs of turquoise feathers to cover the corset. Soon after starting the corset I realised I needed more like 50 packs. So I went back to the shop to buy some more, but they had completely sold out and the business they get them from went into liquidation... queue PANIC!! I ended up having to buy a similar colour feather boa then pull off the feathers then sew them all back on the corset one by one . Safe to say I do not want to see a sewing needle for a long long long time . Im still finding little bits of feathers all over my house.

The day was fantastic fun though. Every year even if it has been torrential rain all month on Faye's birthday the sun always comes out. This year however wasn't quite like that. It kept raining throughout the day so we had to strategically time our walks/runs between pubs. Faye's favourite animal is a Tiger, so obviously she went as one . My friend Amy is the most talented artistic person I know, we all go straight to her when we need something even slightly arty done . She makes all our birthday cards. And she did Faye's face-paint too, I was blown away, she did it in around 20 minutes!

Have a look at how good it is:

I was pleased with how mine and Biff's costumes turned out. The tails were a nightmare to make, but after I made the first one and figured out how to do it, the second one was a lot easier. I sellotaped each feather down onto cardboard then layered them on top of each other, then sandwiched them in  the cardboard, and then slipped the whole thing down between our backs and corset.

This is Me, Faye and Amy, she looked amazing as a zebra, she even did her own face paint. She mohawked her hair and braided black hair extensions into it to make stripes. She is one talented girl.

This is the group of us that was walking around. As you can tell we kinda stood out, and it's safe to say we got a few funny looks along the route.

Throughout the day everyone was posing as their animals, I've now learnt Peacocks are quite boring. They don't really do anything. The only pose me and Biff could think of was an over exaggerated hand on hip. It just makes me look like a right poser in the pictures, but ah well I can now go back to pulling strange faces and looking like a goof.

I had such a good day, cant wait for next year, I'm sure Faye will let us know the theme soon enough.
